Taylor Swift’s life-size cake looked more like Venus de Milo after her hands were dislocated in a transport accident.
Award-winning cake artist Elza Baldzhiyska was left to try to save her creation as a superstar singer headlines an international show.
It was being transported from Bulgarian-born Elsa’s home in Windsor, England to Cake International at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham when it was damaged.
Both hands disintegrated as cracks in the cream appeared on the singer’s trademark blonde and shoulders.
A witness said: “Elza is understandably disappointed and shocked by the damage, but she is an absolute professional and will fix it.
“It’s a bit of a race against time before the exhibition opens, but everyone is confident that Taylor Swift will be playing at this year’s show, there’s no doubt about it.”
Elsa is thought to have spent more than 100 hours creating her Taylor Swift model, who wore the iconic blue and white sequin dress the singer wore on The Eras Tour.
Elsa is one of 1,500 bakers, artists, chocolatiers and pastry chefs showcasing their creations at this weekend’s Cake International show.
Other cake replicas include Queen Elizabeth I, complete with jewels by world-class sugar artist Emma Jayne.
The Tudor Monarch features elaborate period dress to match a hand-drawn portrait of the former Queen.
Visitors can also expect a scare from the immersive Sugar Scream exhibit by Ms. Macabre Toy Emporium.
Also on display is a 7-foot tall birthday cake at the center of the show to celebrate Cake International’s 30th anniversary.
Meanwhile, film industry expert sculptor Gary Pollard will display his impressive model of the dragon slayer.
Eagle-eyed Great British Bake Off fans are in for a treat as the shows 2023 winner Matty Edgell is making a guest appearance.
Cake International runs from Friday to Sunday.
